Running a DOS command
[Previous] [Main] [Next]

Through DOS commands RemoteCommand opens a huge array of possibilities for remotely running tasks on a remote computer, e.g. running server maintenance utilities, SQL statements etc. DOS commands are run under the authority of the Listener so if the DOS commands require any form of authentication requiring a user logon the listener configuration on the remote computer should specify that the Listener runs under a user account and not the LocalSystem account.

To run a DOS command on a remote computer first select the computer from the computer list and click 'Explore'.

Both the local and remote computer's directory structure are shown in a single Explorer style window. The local directory structure reflects the current, i.e. real-time, state of the local folders and files. The remote directory structure, however, shows the offline state from the last directory update received from the remote computer.
