RemoteCommand can be used to retrieve a copy of emails from the email client of a remote computer. RemoteCommand does not alter the emails on the remote computer, i.e. it is only a copy of the email and not a transfer of the email.
To view the email of a remote computer select the remote computer from the computer list and click the 'Mail' button, or select 'Mail...' from the Edit menu.
Initially the Mail window for a remote computer will be empty, as shown below. The email browsing window works in a very similar way to modern email clients, i.e. there is a window that shows a list of email headers and a detail window showing the details of the currently selected email header. If attachments were retrieved with the email then the Attachments button will be enabled, which allows the attachments to be saved to a location on the local computer.
To retrieve a copy of the emails on the remote computer a Retrieve Mail request needs to be sent, which can be done by clicking the MailRefresh button. To avoid retrieving all emails RemoteCommand asks the user from which date should the emails be retrieved, the default value is the date of the most recent email already retrieved or for the last seven days (which ever is smaller). RemoteCommand can also retrieve the attachments to emails but since this can drastically increase the size of the data to be returned it is not the default option.
On clicking OK a Retrieve Mail command will be added to the pending commands list and can be sent by pressing the Send button.
